Why Drawing Matters
Drawing is not only a creative skill — it can also support wellbeing.
Research in the field of arts and health shows that creative activities such as drawing can help reduce stress, improve concentration and foster a sense of calm.
Most students find that spending time drawing provides a welcome pause from the busyness of everyday life and an opportunity to reconnect with their creativity - something every single human being was born to do.
AND... drawing is the foundation to all art!

Curious to try it for yourself?
"Marg is a great teacher, I got so much out of the class I took with her. I have been sketching for years but learned so much and had a ball. Marg had a mix of beginners and experienced drawers in the class but we all walked away with some new skills and a better foundation of the basics. Can't wait for my next class." Macarla Church
"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life" Pablo Picasso

My drawing classes take place at Lost Lane Studio, a small garden studio tucked down Wardrop Lane, just a short stroll from the river.
Surrounded by palms, mango trees and tropical plants, it’s a calm and welcoming space where students can slow down, focus and rediscover drawing.
Classes are intentionally small so everyone receives gentle guidance in a relaxed and supportive environment.

FAQ
You might still be wondering...
❓Do I need any drawing experience? Not at all. These classes are designed for complete beginners as well as those returning after time away. You’ll be guided step-by-step in a way that feels clear and achievable. ❓ What if I’m not creative? That’s a very common feeling—and exactly why these classes exist. Drawing is a skill, not necessarily about talent, it’s about learning to see. We're all born to be creative and with the right guidance, anyone can begin. ❓ What if I feel nervous or unsure? That’s completely normal. You’ll be welcomed into a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can take things one step at a time. ❓ Will I actually learn to draw? Yes. It's a bit like learning to walk though - before you can run a marathon, you need to make sure your legs are strong enough. With guidance and practice, you’ll begin to see real progress—along with growing confidence in your ability to keep going. ❓ What do I need to bring? All materials are supplied. Bring an apron if you wish but most important, come with enthusiasm and realistic expectations!
